Sorry, i wouldn’t stress on this, but the google test doesn’t seem to load/render anything, so i’m a bit worried:

ok so i tried the following:

    1. robots.txt did not exist, i tested without and then with a file that allows all, didn’t make any difference

    2. Loading time: you are probably right, but i tested with and without video (2MB) and still get resources that are not loading.
    Screenshot here: https://ibb.co/hA9bvp

    Besides, Pingdom loads in ~600ms…

Without the video, the start page is almost empty, just a few words and 2-3 links. Even the background is CSS gradient, no image so i can’t figure out what is causing this. Also I DON’T GET THE SAME ERRORS every time.
Same with Pingdom, i sometimes get a perfect 100/100 Score or something like 86/100 and the message that i must combine CSS, Scripts, etc.. How on earth can this be? What can change between the perfect score and the not so perfect one?

I have another site i’m just starting on the same server. I installed Ascend and made a start page with image background and a comming soon text. It loads great and without errors in Google mobile test. The only major difference is that i didn’t enable a SSL certificate for the new site jet.

Is the response time that Google mobile test wants, maybe ridiculously small?

    Thanks, i missed that :((

I will have to speak to the host (hostNET). It’s not one of the big ones, but it is a reputable Host in Germany since ’94. They usually are very friendly and helpful.
Is there anything we can check on our side before i give the host a call?

    Thank you for your time

Thank you for the great news Ben!
I too consider that a lot more should be done in Browsers and actually the options are there but people are ignorant and are not using them. As for the IP, it seems that the biggest concern of the EU lawmakers is that a Website sends the IP automatically to third party services before the visitor had a chance to give consent… and they get a crisis if this information gets out of the EU – this is why Google-Services are targeted first.
If you could think of a way that prevents the map to send visitor information (or if, then anonymized) to Google, then you could actually let the map load, but i don’t know if that is technically possible, i’m just brainstorming ideas.
    Kind Regards,

    Hi,
i added the label and it works fine.
Then i tried to insert a link to the Policy page too and the label is not showing again. Is there a way i can insert a link in this label, or do i have to put a separate link outside the shortcode?

    My shortcode:
[kad_testimonial_form name_label="NAME" testimonial_label="IHRE BEWERTUNG" location_label="ORT" position_label="GGF UNTERNEHMEN" link_label="INTERNETPRÄSENZ" submit_label="ABSENDEN" success_message="VIELEN DANK ! ]

    Thank you

I’m sorry Fevzi, i don’t quite understand how you mean this, but at least in Germany this mater is a huge concern.
Some clients NEED to have a map and then a solution to ensure that data is not transmitted to Google before consent must be also in place. There are already admonitions on this in Germany and since Ben is a very experienced developer i hope he has as usual a great idea on how to implement this safe and easy with a plugin or even as a Theme feature. This would be a huge thumbs up from all European Kadence members and also a good sales point for Kadence products.

    Hi Ben and Kadence Team,

as you noticed, some of the European members are concerned about the GDPR and it is great that you already solved Google Fonts in such an elegant way.
The second big concern is the Google Map. Maybe you already have something in mind, that would be great. I found two main approaches on this matter:

    1. a consent on the landing page that contains a checkbox for the google maps – this is not considered enough by specialized lawyers unless the cookie/google maps consent plugin also blocks the scripts for google maps (and other plugins) – You would get a lot of love if you would make such a plugin for the Kadence community.

    2. not loading the google map unless checking a consent on the map (place) itself. This is agreed as good solution for Google maps but leaves the visitor to look at a grey space before he gives consent. Maybe you could implement this solution (consent box) to the Google Widget with an added extra: the map hidden (like in accordion maybe or just display:none) until the consent is given.

It would be great if you have time to look into this problem and maybe come up with a solution.
Not at last, we trust you more then all the other developers combined, that offer some solutions for GDPR compliance, at least this is what i have learned in the 5 years as a Kadence user/member.

    Best regards,
    B.Anders

You are a genius! I noticed how the testimonial changed height but didn’t connect the dots.
    Thank a million.

    Hi Hannah & Kevin,

@Hannah: it creates change, the image becomes static and does not repeat, it’s just not what was intended.
The site as it was build some years ago worked with fixed backgrounds on all images and start slider. Unfortunately i didn’t notice when or on what update this changed.

@kevin: The image is already center-top. I also tried other background positions.

    Thanks,
    B.Anders

Great. I wasn’t getting the syntax of right. Thank you again!

    May 14, 2018 at 3:33 pm #190067

    Also i forgot to ask:
is there a way to “compose” a selector just for one icon from one of the staff members without affecting the other staff members?
I was thinking of using the data- attribute as a selector but i don’t find much about the syntax. I’m very thankful if you give me an example again.

    Perfect Ben, thank you!
Can you also tell me where i find the codes (like “\f007”) for the theme icons?

    May 14, 2018 at 1:18 pm #190057

If you just help me with the css syntax i can fiddle around as needed.
If you can, just give me an example on any of the icons of a staff member, replaced with another kt-icon.

As for replacing the text, i’ll solve it with a snippet. If i need to not show the popup text, is there a css approach for doing this?

Sorry for buzzing, i have some difficulty finding the right selectors on this.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Kevin,

your css looks suspicious, but it works :))

While you are there can you please tell me if there is a possibility to replace an icon in the Staff contact and also the popup text that says like “Follow.. this guy…” (maybe with gettext or similar)
    Staff is here: http://joy.design.o-zen.de/team/

    Thank you

    Hi Kevin,

no, i actually want the opposite, i want to compress the left side of the page a bit. I actually had that margin set to 10px.

    I did find it meanwhile:

    .page-id-299 input[type="text"], input[type="email"], input[type="password"], input[type="url"], input[type="tel"], input[type="number"], input[type="search"], select, textarea {
        padding: 5px 1px 5px 10px;
    }

    Thank you
